Master Elumalai is an 11-year-old boy who has been having a hearing problem since a very young age. A recent visit to the doctor revealed that he suffers from severe to profound hearing loss. Elumalai is an orphan boy and is under the care of Sampathu Orphanage for the past 7 years. Elumalai is an intelligent boy and takes a keen interest in learning. The hearing problem has been causing hindrance to his academic progress. In the classrooms, he finds it very difficult to hear the teacher and suffers the same even when attending online classes. He is studying in 8th standard at Veda Vijnana Maha Peetha School on Kanakpura road, run by the Art of Living Foundation. By providing him a digital hearing aid of good quality, it will help the boy in listening to the teacher in the classes and help him succeed in the examinations.
Elumalai has been seeking treatment at the Government hospital, Bangalore, and has been advised to get extra strong hearing aids for both his ears. The estimated cost of the hearing aid is Rs. 55,600, and the Orphanage is in no position to manage the additional expenditure.
How Right to Live is Helping:
As per our background verification, the Orphanage is cannot afford the cost of his treatment. We at Right to Live are doing our bit by raising funds for procuring the hearing aid.
Remember that 100% of your donation goes to the Elumalai’s treatment. We don’t use any part of donations for admin expenses, since those costs are covered by trustees. The payment is only released to hospitals and not placed in patients’ hands.
