Parameswara is a 39-year-old priest, residing at Kalmadka, Sullia in Dakshin Kannada district. He is living with his aged parents, and is the sole wage earner for his family. He used to work as an assistant Priest in Kalmadka, until he got afflicted with advanced Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.
Parameswara’s illness started with a recurring high fever and weight loss. He consulted a local doctor who referred him to MIO Hospital in Mangalore, where he was diagnosed with advanced Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma B cell stage IV.
Doctors have planned for 6 cycles of Chemotherapy, each of which costs about INR. 80,000/-. The total estimated cost for treatment is about INR. 5,00,000/-. He is still under hospitalization and needs further treatment, but is running short of money. ‘Right To Live’ is trying to raise funds for his continued treatment.
