Rakshit, a 22-year-old boy, from Jalsoor Sullia, DK Dist of Karnataka, hails from an economically deprived background. His father, an agriculture labourer, raised Rakshit to the best of his abilities to give him a better life than his own. Rakshit recently graduated with a B.Com degree and took his first step towards a promising career, and was able to secure a job that would have helped him get closer to his goals and aspirations in life.
One day, while at work, he started getting abdominal pain frequently. When the pain got worse, his parents took him to the nearest hospital and after the initial diagnosis, the doctors suggested to take him to Mangalore for further tests. At Mangalore, he was diagnosed with kidney failure, and the doctors suggested that he undergoes dialysis starting immediately. The cost for dialysis per month works out to about Rs 30,000.
The father being a daily wage worker, was already struggling to meet the family’s daily needs, and now the added cost of dialysis is too high to be borne by the father. Currently, Rakshit is staying in Jalsoor and traveling to Indian Hospital, Mangalore for dialysis on alternate days. His family is planning for a kidney transplant in the future.
How Right To Live is helping?
As per our background verification, Rakshit’s family is economically poor, and cannot afford the cost of his treatment. If things go as planned, Rakshit can be back to his job by next year and continue his normal life.
