Saktheeswaran, aged 24 years, has been suffering from insulin needing diabetes for the past 12 years. Unfortunately, due to a combination of poverty (he was working as a labourer and mother works as a domestic) and lack of knowledge, he went into kidney failure due to poorly controlled diabetes. By the time help came on the way, it was too late to prevent end-stage kidney failure. The good news is that he has a related donor in his mother, and necessary preparations for renal transplant has been completed and he is just a couple of weeks away from a life changing kidney transplant. He is on an insulin pump now supported by a charitable trust and glucoses are well under control.
The doctors have waived of all their professional fees. Idhayangal Charitable Trust, a NGO involved with Type 1 diabetes is contributing 3 lacs and the PM relief fund is chipping in with another 3 lacs. The family needs another 3 lacs to get this transplant done and hence this appeal. Kindly help this deserving boy another chance in his life. We sincerely thank all contributors for your generosity.
