Srujan, a 3-year old boy, is the fourth child of Padma and Santhosh. Their joy was short-lived when within an year of his birth, the parents noticed a problem that occurs whenever the child urinates.
Initially, the couple had consulted a doctor at a government hospital in Humnabad Karnataka, but the baby contracted multiple illnesses, and was moved for further treatment to a private hospital. The doctor at Humnabad diagonised that the baby is suffering from bilateral ectopic ureters with recurrent UTI and Hernia. The boy underwent a left ureter cystostomy during infancy. He is currently advised for laparoscopic right ureter cystostomy. The approximate cost of the surgery is estimated at around INR. 90,000(INR ninety thousand)
