Helped 11-year-old Suresh get bone marrow transplantation!
Suresh is 11-year-old suffering from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) blood cancer. If he gets treatment, he has a good chance of getting better. But his family's resources are dwindling, and they are finding it very difficult to continue with the treatment.
Over the last couple of months, Suresh has been undergoing chemotherapy, and he has another 4 months to go. Doctors have recommended him to get Bone Marrow Transplant done, which would cost approximately INR 12 lakhs.
With just 2 months of chemotherapy, Suresh is already growing weaker by the day and thereby, he is not able to go to school. Only further medication can help him recover well. To add to the woes of Suresh’s parents, the family is not from Bangalore although Suresh is undergoing treatment at Narayana Hrudayalaya. This amounts to additional expenses for accommodation in Bangalore.
Suresh’s parents are already struggling to pay for his treatment just after paying for 2 months for the chemotherapy. Now that their funds have also got exhausted, they have sold whatever little gold the family had and are now considering selling their small house too to save Suresh. Despite that, the funds generated from selling the house will still not be enough to complete Suresh's treatment.
How Right To Live helped:
We, Right To Live team, did our bit by raising funds for his treatment. Our sincere thanks to First Hand Foundation who have donated INR 13,65,400.25 directly to the hospital for this treatment.
