Shriya, age 12 yrs, was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (failure of both her kidneys) in 2015. She has been on dialysis (Peritoneal Dialysis) for four years, and the left kidney had to be removed due to an infection in Apr'18. Since then, she is undergoing Hemodialysis every second day while awaiting a suitable donor for a Kidney transplant.
Unfortunately, as Shriya was undergoing treatment for a kidney ailment, her younger brother Vijay, age 9 Yrs, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (Blood cancer) in 2017. He has been undergoing chemo for 14 months. However, to the shock of the family, the doctors recently diagnosed that this deadly disease has returned (relapsed). The only treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia relapse is to administer a very aggressive course of Chemo again. Post the Chemotherapy, he would undergo brain radiation and subsequently, all the tests (MRI, BMT, MRD) will be run again and if the tests result being negative for leukaemia, the last life-saving course for him will be Bone Marrow Transplant (Stem Cell transplant).
Their father Jayasimha Kulkarni is a single breadwinner of his family trying to fight this battle with fate bravely. He has exhausted all his money in their treatment for the past 3 years and falling short of finances for their treatment. He is struggling to meet the cost for their treatment estimated over 35 Lakhs, which is beyond his capacity to save these lovely children. He is appealing to all kindhearted people for prayers and support financially. Every little contribution can give a new lease of life to these siblings.
How Right To Live is Helping:
We at Right To Live are trying to do our bit by raising funds for the kids treatment. We request you to come forward and support these siblings for their treatment.
Remember that 100% of your donation goes for Shriya and Vijay's treatment. Since the administrative costs are covered by trustees, we would not and do not use any part of your donation for anything else other than the patient’s treatment. The payment is only ever released to hospitals and not placed in patients’ hands and complete transparency is maintained.
