Anu, a widow at the age of 28, is the sole breadwinner of her family. She lost her husband in 2009 and was forced to move in with her mother, who works as a sweeper after her in-laws shut their door on her. To make things worse, Anu lost her sister and her husband a few years back leaving their four children with Anu. Working as a domestic help in Ulsoor, Anu earns Rs.5000/- per month. With her little earning she supports her sister’s children, their education and looks after her mother. They live in a rented house near Ulsoor which costs her Rs.4500/- every month.
Unfortunately, Anu was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia with Retroviral Status Positive in the month of April 2017. She was treated intensive anti-leukemic therapy at Vikram Hospital Bangalore and spent 191,422. Right To Live supported Anu in 2017 with funds for this treatment.
Today, she has a relapse of the same disease and needs continued treatment for anti-leukemic therapy (disease-stabilizing treatment for acute myeloid leukemia. This treatment is estimated to cost about Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 15,000 per month. The treatment is being done at Vikram Hospital.
Your help is required to bring Anu back to normalcy.
