The birth of a new life in a family brings in a lot of happiness, responsibilities, and new emotions. Prateeksha is the one who brought these elements into her parent's life.
It was a small little happy family leading life with whatever little they had, but by the time they could see their daughter growing up and playing around with them they got to know that their daughter was suffering from leukemia.
Prateeksha is suffering from Juvenile Myelo-Monocytic Leukemia, a rare form of blood cancer which affects young children under the age of 4. This can be treated by chemotherapy followed by a haplo-identical stem cell transplant. This in total can cost Rs.25,00,000 (twenty-five lacs) approximately. Currently Prateeksha is under chemotherapy at M S Ramaiah Hospital Bangalore.
Prateeksha’s dad is a small daily wage self-employee who comes from an extremely poor social economy background, he cannot afford to pay the hospital charges for his daughter’s treatment. They are in a helpless situation where they do not know how to save their little daughter, who has just spent a year on this planet and has a lot to see in this world and a lot more to achieve, learn and play in the future.
