Thanushree, a 3-year-old child, was born to parents Mr. Munianjinappa, an attendee in a small health care clinic, and Mrs. Renuka, a homemaker, living in Devanahalli village, Sidlagatta taluk, Chikkaballapura district. She was born preterm through cesarean when the mother Mrs. Renuka developed seizures. Thanushree was a healthy baby weighing 2 kgs. But due to the mother's ill health, the child was dependant on top feed alone and gradually lost a lot of weight.

When the child was one year old, she had the first episode of per vaginal bleed lasting for a day. Next, when she was 1 and half years old, the P/V bleed reccurred, along with being overweight for her age. Over the next year, there was more recurrence of the P/V bleed, and after consulting several doctors and hospitals in Gubbi, Tiptur, and other places, she has been now referred to Aster CMI, Bangalore, to Dr. Ravi Gopal Varma for further evaluation and treatment. On assessment, the child was diagnosed to have a Brain tumor and advised for the surgery - Craniotomy, and excision of the tumor.

The approximate cost of the entire surgery and treatment would come to INR 5,00,000.
