Raju Asrani, a 63-year-old woman, was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer, a couple of years back, at the HCG Cancer Hospital in Bangalore. She was treated for the same through sessions of Chemotherapy. However, at present, her cancer has relapsed and is in its 4th stage and requires Chemotherapy sessions costing around 4.3 Lakh.

Raju has a family of 4 including her husband and two married daughters. Her husband is a 67- year old man who used to work as a driver but had to give up on the profession after he started suffering from a cataract problem. The family is financially dependent on the younger daughter, who is a guest lecturer at a college and earns INR 15,000 a month.
