Punarv Madappa, a 2-month-old infant from a small village in Kodagu district, Karnataka, is battling a rare and life-threatening liver condition known as biliary atresia. Punarv’s parents, Dhanya and Yogesh, who come from a low-socioeconomic background, rely on a small coffee plantation for their livelihood and hold a Below Poverty Line (BPL) ration card.
Punarv has undergone a Kasai portoenterostomy, a critical surgical procedure to treat his condition. Biliary atresia is a severe disorder where the bile ducts inside or outside the liver do not have normal openings, leading to liver damage. Without timely intervention and continued medical care, the prognosis is dire.
The family’s financial situation is dire. Yogesh, the primary breadwinner, supports not only his wife and Punarv but also his aged mother and a 4-year-old son. The burden of Punarv’s medical expenses is overwhelming for them. Dhanya and Yogesh, who have not graduated, are struggling to make ends meet while ensuring the best possible care for their son.
Owing to his humble economic background, he needs financial assistance. Given the continuity of the cost associated with treatment, considering the lack of resources in hand, Right to Live is helping the family gather the required funds in association with Cisco Champions.
Please remember: 100% of your donation goes to Punarv’s treatment. We don’t use any part of donations for admin expenses since trustees cover those costs. The payment is entirely released to the concerned hospital and not placed in the patients’ hands.
Right to Live requests your kind cooperation by contributing to this noble cause, which will allow Punarv to help in the treatment of Biliary Atresia and lead a healthy life with his loved ones.
