Mr. Puneet Kumar, age 26 years, has been suffering from Hypertension and CKD (chronic kidney disease) stage 5 and is on regular haemodialysis at Baptist Hospital Bangalore.
Puneet Kumar hails from Bellary district of Karnataka, India. Puneet had been a very good student, and was studying in B.Com. Once, while travelling to college, he started getting abdominal pain frequently. The situation got worse, and his parents took him to the nearest hospital. After initial diagnosis the doctors suggested him to continue further treatment at Bangalore. In Bangalore, has was taken to Victoria hospital, where he was diagnosed with kidney failure, and the doctors suggested him to go for Peritoneal Dialysis.
His father is a daily wage worker, and the family is struggling to support the medical expenses. Puneet Kumar was registered for Cadaver renal transplant program and received a deceased/Cadaver kidney but the surgery needs be done immediately. The transplant surgery package at Baptist Hospital is, Transplant cost INR. 5,50,000 and induction agent (ATG/Grafalon) cost INR. 1,50,000. The total cost would be approx INR. 7,00,000. (Seven Lakhs Rupees)
