Support to ‘Think like a Scientist’

A Science Forum plays an active role in developing a scientific outlook among students through a number of programs and campaigns. The forum encourages and engages the students in science-related programs. The purpose of a Forum, of this nature, is to inculcate a scientific attitude and provide opportunities for training in scientific methods. It encourages and motivates students of various disciplines to gain knowledge on the latest scientific methods and development. The Forum also serves as a platform where people exchange ideas, information and knowledge on Science.

The contemporary world is changing faster than before. In light of this, skill upgradation especially with a scientific approach is the need of the hour, considering the global changes. On this note, Right to Live is associating with Sagar Science Forum to support the cause for a better tomorrow.

Sagar Science Forum (SSF)

It is a not-for-profit organization, started 12 years ago, working to enhance scientific temperament amongst children as well as educate teachers on the same. As part of this journey the organization is engaging with the students and teachers, especially in government schools where there is limited exposure to scientific experiments that kindle curiosity. The forum is based out of the rural region of Malnad in Karnataka.

SSF organizes programs for high school and junior college students once a month on Sundays with the motto “Jnanam Vijnaana Sahitam”. This program is called ‘Vignana Manthana’. A residential science camp is also organized for a period of 3-4 days for the interested students. In these programs, renowned scientists from prestigious institutes participate on invitation, as resource persons. The students interact with eminent people and are motivated to indulge in science as they learn fascinating facts on the same. Additionally, Teachers’ orientation Programs are arranged too. The forum has been appreciated by all the scientists including Bharatha Rathna Professor Dr C. N. R. Rao. Now the forum is embarking on a major project of building a Science Centre at Sagar on the advice of all the people concerned and expand our activities beyond the academic needs.

How can you help?

Right to Live, understanding the significance of such a learning center, together with Sagar Science Forum is gathering the required funds to execute the project. The total cost associated with the building and maintenance of the lab is around INR 25 lakhs. Requesting all our best-wishes and supporters to generously donate towards this initiative which will enable bright students from rural areas to work with a scientific spirit and approach, while developing their interest in the subject.
